Breakthrough has always aimed to help the most vulnerable in society. Initially, we focused on prison leavers, giving them digital skills to help them reintegrate and find jobs. Now, we’re expanding to include more underserved groups in the UK, such as women, young people, and those seeking new careers.
We began with workshops for prison leavers, teaching essential digital skills, and launching careers in the tech sector. These skills were crucial for those who had been out of touch with technology.

Preparing for Future Industries
To help people prepare for the future, we are adding sessions on blockchain, the metaverse, and AI. These areas are growing fast and will be important in the future job market. Learning about these technologies will give our participants new career opportunities. Our goal is to connect diverse, underrepresented, and underserved talent with the tech world.
Supporting those in the criminal justice system is still a key part of our mission. We believe that helping people in this system through community, technology, and education can change lives and reduce reoffending rates. Our programmes give prison leavers the tools they need to succeed, helping them build a brighter future.
At Breakthrough, we believe everyone deserves the chance to succeed. By expanding our skills boot camp and adding cutting-edge tech training, we’re building a more inclusive and fair society. With the right tools, training, and support, we can bridge the gap between the people of today and the jobs of tomorrow.
